Israel de Jesus Lopez Prieto is a PhD student in the department of Chemical and Environmental engineering at the University of Arizona. He has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guanajuato (UG, MEX) and a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM, MEX). His areas of expertise are wastewater characterization and bio-electrochemical systems (microbial fuel cells) for wastewater treatment. His research at University of Arizona is focused in wastewater treatment and water reuse. He is awarded with the prestigious CONACyT scholarship.
